About the schedule

  • Comcast Newsmakers airs exclusively on Comcast Channel 29 – CNN Headline News for Comcast Customers in Monroe, Dade and Broward Counties.
  • The show airs at 25 and 55 minutes past the hour from 6am until 7pm and again from 11pm until 6am.   Comcast does not interrupt CNN Headline News Primetime programming.
  • Our local segments will air on a weekly rotation – you can find out which weeks each program airs by selecting SCHEDULES in the navigation bar above
  • Each segment airs more than once per week and up to 10 times each month.

How can I get a copy of the show?

  • If you are interested in a copy of the show, you can fill out the request form here.
  • There is a $15 fee for each DVD request. Only check accepted. We CAN NOT process your request until we have received a payment.
  • Please allow 2 to 4 weeks to process.
  • On the form, please list the date and location of your taping. For example, if you did your interview in Hialeah on April 21st, please list this information on the “Show Date” line.
  • Please know that if you receive a copy of the show, it may not be rebroadcast in any other form (i.e. Internet, TV, etc.).

How to prepare for the interview

  • Please email any news releases or information related to the interview topic, and a one-paragraph explanation of the group or organization you are representing at least 7 business days ahead of the interview. Please send this information to your Comcast contact . This will allow the host to prepare an introduction and conduct your interview.
  • The interview portion will last approximately 4-6 minutes. On the Checklist sheet we have sent you please provide three or four talking points that will highlight your topic. This will ensure that your message is fully conveyed. This too should be returned 7 business days in advance of the interview.
  • If you have video (beta format preferred) or dvd, photographs or art work that support your interview, please notify us and provide them to us AT LEAST 7 Business Days in advance of the interview. We may be able to use these materials within the interview to enhance the visual perspective.

What to wear to the taping

  • To prevent a high contrast between skin and clothing, guests should choose clothing carefully. A fair-skinned person should avoid very dark clothing, and a dark-skinned person should avoid wearing light colors. Wearing black and white together may result in a contrast problem on the screen.
  • Fabric with tight patterns, e.g. herringbone, may cause a distracting rainbow effect to appear.
  • Purple clothing will appear blue on the screen.
  • Be aware that eyeglasses may cast a reflection of the studio lights.
  • Wear clothing that you feel comfortable and confident in.

Arrival

  • Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled interview time.

Preparing Video/Photographs

  • Edited video that can be shown in 30 to 45 second clips should be provided SEVEN business days before taping. It must be broadcast quality such as Beta SP or DVD.
  • Photographs (at least five) should be copied onto CD and sent to us at least SEVEN business days before taping.
